When Ali (short for Aliana) says quite matter-of-factly, at my old school “no one cared, who Lindsay was” it’s quite refreshing to hear. Especially when your sister’s name is ubiquitous as the President’s - at least in some circles. But now, as a seventh-grader at a new middle school, they are quite different: “I’m with more kids and it’s a lot more fun because I have more freedom, but it’s hard when people ask “Is your sister bulimic?” and other mean stuff”, Ali explains “it’s really upsetting.”

As a kid growing up in Long-Island, Ali got her start at the age of two modeling for a popular clothing store The Children’s Place. More than ten years later, she still has vested interest in fashion “I like Juicy Couture, Hard Tail and I love Abercrombie’s new straight-leg jeans. I like to copy my sister’s style, actually,” she says with a laugh.

While Lindsay’s career has certainly jump-started Ali’s, the soon to be thirteen-year-old, a talented soccer player (she competes on her school’s squad as well as on a traveling team), is determined to carve a path for herself. “I’m working on my own TV show and also on a movie, which I’m pretty excited about,” she said. But perhaps most impressive of all is that she’s on her way to being a star in her own right. “Now,” she says proudly, “people can call me Ali Lohan instead of Lindsay’s little sister.”
